First Good Step – Home Allergy Treatment
There goes a saying “Prevention is better than Cure”. This saying goes aptly for people suffering from allergy. The first step for any person suffering from allergy is to avoid any situation that sparks the reaction of an allergy. The allergy treatment may vary from person to person depending on the trigger. Many people are commonly allergic to dust and pollen particles for which treatment of house can become quite time consuming and also a financial burden if not treated properly.
If you go according to advertisements, you may be disappointed because these products do not always work as shown in advertisements specially the expensive filers and cleaning products. Sometimes it so happens that the cleaning products leave dust and pollen particles floating through the air in the house which may settle on furniture or other such products. Even vacuum cleaners with in-built filters leave dust particles to float in the air for 15-20 minutes before they settle down on any furniture hence vacuuming can prove to be quite a tedious process.
Replacing carpets with hard surface floors or linoleum is quite an expensive option which cannot be afforded by all. It is important to remember that the person who is suffering the allergy should not come in the room while the cleaning is on because this will only aggravate to situation. The person suffering from allergy should also not be the person who is doing the cleaning. Once the room is vacuumed and enough time is provided for the dust particles to settle, the room should then be cleaned with a damp cloth so as to make sure that all the particles settled are picked up.
Important to Maintain Temperature
Dust mites can multiply if not cleaned out thoroughly. The allergy treatment in the bedroom should be more taken care off because this is the place where people spend most of their time and this place has the most opportunity for dust mines to multiply. In order to reduce their growth it is necessary to maintain the room temperature at 68 to 72 degrees. When clothes are washed, especially bed linens the water should be about 135 degrees to ensure proper killing of dust mites in bed linens. It is advisable to use imitation feather bed spreads as they are easy to wash and do not clump up when wet which is a problem with feather beds.
Drapes and curtains should also be washable. It is advisable not to use mini or Venetian blinds as they provide friendly atmosphere for dust mites to multiply. When you have children around in the house it is important to see that you avoid dust-collecting items like stuff toys which serve as dust collecting grounds. The idea of gifting books rather than toys seems great because this helps in keeping the dust mite count minimum and thus reducing allergy pollutants.
